(More customer reviews)The Piranha GTI Ramapage will keep up with higher-end electros on the field with no problem! I started playing paintball in the 90's, and markers have come a long way since then. Piranha has been a staple in paintball since I started, and it's difficult to go wrong. A few things: (1) Upgrade the barrel. The stock barrel is junk. I've replaced it with a DYE 14" and it's shoots perfectly straight every time (Piranhas take Spyder threaded barrels). (2) Make sure you're running Nitro/HPA...Co2 will will not keep up with this marker due to high rates of fire and will freeze your gun instantly. (3) Use a force-feed loader. Neither gravity or agitation will keep up with this gun. I played 4 games with this marker and NEVER chopped a ball.
The Rampage Board features 6 pre-programmed rates of fire (including full-auto, 25 bps). All of the pre-programmed settings can be adjusted for personal preference, but the board is not the easiest to program and the tourney lock is VERY difficult to get to (I know that's the point, but it shouldn't be THAT hard). You can program the board to fire at any BPS rate you wish. For example, one of the fields I go to has a maximum BPS of 12. You can set the marker to shoot no more than 12 BPS- and you're good to go.
When first released a couple years ago, the retail on this marker was over $200. Most places sell it dirt cheap now since it's a couple years old. This is definately the way to go for a good electronic marker without busting your wallet. For it's price range, you can't beat the Piranha Rampage.
