(More customer reviews)THE SKINNY: Great sling mount, though extremely heavy. Buy it. Just to feel it. This thing must be made of lead. With that being said, though, I purchased this thing for the QD sling loop, not the base. It's nestled wonderfully on my gas block and does a great job on my S&W M&P-15. Yes, it works for a real gun. It's tough enough. The push button is easy to actuate, but is recessed so it can't be accidentally bumped. Also, if you're planning on attaching it to a rail, be confident in knowing that it does not require an allen wrench, but rather a flat head screw driver.
